Quick Overview

Metacaulk Cover Guard expands when exposed to heat, forming a refractory char that tightly seals to prevent the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic fumes. It is easy to install by hand and is mounted on the inside of the cover plate, allowing for simultaneous installation. This product covers the opening without taking up volume in the electrical box. Metacaulk Cover Guard is economical and labor-saving compared to putty pads, making it an excellent choice for retrofit jobs. Additionally, it helps reduce sound transmission. Precured dry intumescent one-component fire-rated gasket for use with electrical boxes when addressing steel electrical box penetrations in fire-rated assemblies (the “24 inch rule”).
